Description

An Affordable Place to Call Home: Tools and Policies for Manufactured Home Parks

Manufactured home parks are a vital source of affordable housing for Portland region residents. There are 233 manufactured home parks in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties, with over 20,000 homes affordable to families, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities. Oregon law provides several protections for homeowners living in manufactured home communities, and in recent years, Oregon has expanded tools to help residents purchase the land under their homes.

This lunch and learn session will be focused on tools and policies that jurisdictions, housing practitioners and community advocates can use to support manufactured home park residents and expand manufactured housing options around the Metro area. Chelsea Catto from CASA of Oregon will provide an overview of current resources and policies and will facilitate a discussion with panelists including state and local agency staff and organizations working to support manufactured housing residents and increase access to this form of affordable housing.

Get the basics on current tools and policies, brainstorm ways to overcome challenges and barriers, and leave with the information you need to help support housing opportunity in your community.

Doors open at 11:45; program including presentation and Q&A will go from 12 noon to 1:15. We hope you can join us!
